BEAR MOUNTAIN
Tricky and tough course (too many elevated greens), overlooking Lake Chelan with great views..18 a long hole with a very large gap in gront of the greeen..lovely clubhouse..only 2 years old when played in 2006
CRESCENT BAR
Wenatchee: 9 hole course on the Columbia on way to Wenatchee..Very hot in Summer..Also scene of a lawsuit against the Grant Co. PUD by the tenants on the Island against the PUD as to whether the lease ended in 2012 or 2013...long drawn out case
DESERT CANYON
High desert course with long distances between greens and next tees..Stunning views of Columbia river...intended as a destination resort, but doubt it will make it. One hole 600 yards..but all downhill...whee!! Played with the Macs after we dropped off Zach and Tanya at the Gorge and picked up later (2am) after the concert...Long but good day..
HARRINGTON
(35 miles west of Spokane)..Course paid for by the fed gov't as part of an irrigation project for this farming community. 9 hole course that is quite fun...#9 over water and Mom almost got a birdie.
HIGHLANDER
This new course (2003) looks over the Columbia and was one of the Prodigal group's favorite courses when we toured eastern Wash. Very scenic and playable..played original round and 2d with a scramble on the Prodigal..some returned with their wives.
KAHLER GLEN
This was originally a 9 hole course when played during our cousin reunion around 1997. At Dirty Face Lodge (Many rooms for all and last night ate in Leavenworth.. Lyn joined us there, soaked as she had been hiking in nearby mountains with her dog...Last time with Connie as the only one of that generation still alive..Good opening hole downhill and then over water… Now 18 hole course.
LAKE CHELAN
Course on a hill above Chelan (public). Played when Tracy was a baby and she rode in the golf cart in her bassinette covered with netting to protect from mosquitoes. (Probably where Tracy learned to play golf).
LEAVENWORTH
Fun course laid out along the Icicle River just west of town. Start off with an elevated tee and a number of holes along the river. Many fir trees, delightful course. Brett plays this after an all nighter at Watch of the Cross Easter weekend, followed by 9 mile run in the mountains and then a 2 p.m. tee time at Desert Canyon where he meets up with Dad.
MOSES LAKE GOLF CLUB
18 hole course right along I-5 freeway: Played after some business in the area with Terry Brooks, a law school classmate practicing in Yakima. Interesting course that is well-maintained...Lost some of its members to Moses Point further west of the freeway when it was build recently.
MOSES POINT
More recent 18 hole layout in the links tradition. Well laid out and fun to play...number of water holes and nifty clubhouse. Played with guys and as last stop on state of Washington Prodigal tour. Mison says, “Sign me up”!
ODESSA
Plain 9 hole course in the heart of Odessa that I played after some depositions in the area. Fairly flat, but a good course for this community.
OKANOGAN VALLEY
Interesting course tucked into North Central Wash…Played with Dr. Pres Bratrude as a break from trying a two week malpractice case against him in Omak...defense verdict even though I did refer to one of the juror’s dresses as "bile green." Tried to recover but found out later she had to throw that dress out... Also had a young juror wink at me as he left the court as he had indicated that Dr Bratrude had literally saved his wife in the wilderness on an earlier occassion...
